What are the documents required to create an insurance policy?

Driver license, vehicle registration form, ID/Iqama.

What is the age limit of the insurance?

18 Hijri years if the policy is issued after the date 26-08-2018.

After an accident, will my vehicle be repaired or compensated?

No, the other party is compensated according to regulations.

What is the process of cancellation after selling the vehicle?

Provide the following documents (the bill of sale, the vehicle's registration form in the other owner's data, the owner's ID, a copy of the IBAN, the insurance policy).

What is the discount rate in case of renewal?

10%

Is Najm discount applied if the record is free of accidents?

Insurance has been made for the purpose of transferring the ownership of the vehicle and the sale was cancelled, can the insurance be cancelled?

Yes, by providing a dated print from the General Department of Traffic proving that the vehicle is not owned anymore.

Can an insurance be made by phone (with providing me with the invoice number for payment)?

No, you can make an insurance only through our branches or intermediaries.

Another vehicle was mistakenly insured (typo in the serial number ... customs card number), what is the procedure?

Yes, by providing a dated print from the General Department of Traffic proving that the vehicle is not owned anymore.

How to submit cancellation documents?

Through our branches. If no branches are available, then it can be submitted by e-mail (cc@sstc.com.sa).

In the event of an accident and the driver does not have a driving license, is the accident covered?

The third party shall be indemnified. You (the insured) shall pay the costs.

Does the insurance cover accidents outside Saudi Arabia?

No, and a coverage in the GCC and Jordan requires a geographical expansion.

Plates were issued after the insurance on the customs card, what is the procedure?

Go to the branch with the vehicle registration form to add the plate.

Where to file claims?

Through major branches (Jeddah, Al-Khobar, Riyadh), Najm for Insurance Services, or Saudi Post.

What are the documents for filing a claim?

Report of the body supervising the accident, assessment, ID, license, registration form, IBAN.

Can the claim or cancellation payment be paid to me by check?

No, only a bank transfer to the owner of the vehicle.

How long to process a claim?

15 days unless in case of referral of the claim to the body supervising of the incident, then a response by them must be received first.

Should the driver's license be valid during the accident?

If the policy is issued before the date 26-08-2018, then yes. However, if the policy is issued after the date of 26-08-2018, then a renewal is required within 50 working days from the date of the accident.
